What’s New for 2023
You know what those worms are doing to the soil in your garden. But, worms in your basement? In this, not too-technical presentation, Noreen Kolesar and Sophia Munro will explain the basics of getting started in vermicomposting. They will dump out an established vermicomposter, share their experiences, and review the pros and cons to a having a vermicomposter in your home. They will bring along door prizes for a draw including worms and supplies to set up a bin, worm castings and worm ‘tea’, as well as other indoor gardening items including some sprouted shoots and seeds.

I decided to grow it; now what do I do with it?
Anita Jacobson grew up gardening with her parents in Arborg, Manitoba and hated it. She wanted to get veggies from the store like the town kids did. Well fast forward more years than she’s going to say, and she can’t imagine not having a garden. After a couple of years of traditional in ground gardening Anita and her husband Tim went with raised beds as they knew they were in their forever home and wanted to be able to continue to garden as they got older. Anita will talk about what they grow and how growing it fits their life. She looks forward to sharing some ideas of what to do with produce.
