Plant Auction

After the great success of our first ever online Zoom plant auction, we are excited to announce our plant auction will be online again this year. As in past auctions, we will have a selection of bedding plants, flowers & vegetables, perennials and more, including generously donated-items from our local greenhouses.

Date: Wednesday, May 25th & Thursday, May 26th
Time: 6:30 pm
Location: Online (You must register in advance - see below)

Donations:

Consider donating a few of your favorite plants if you are thinning & dividing plants this spring. Do you have too many bedding plants sitting under your grow lights? Our garden club auction team needs and would appreciate your donation for this fun fundraiser!

To donate:

  1. Complete this form to let us know your plant donation intentions: Donate items for Auction
  2. Drop off time: Wednesday, May 18th to Monday, May 23th

Note: You do not need to call/email ahead of time to drop off items. Please just drop off your labelled items on the driveway by the garage door.

Bidder Registration:

All bidders must register.

  1. Complete this form: Register to Bid. Be sure to register for both days.
  2. Deadline to register: Tuesday, May 24th, midnight
  3. You will be emailed a confirmation of your registration.
  4. If you are a member of the Charleswood Garden Club, you will use your member number as your bidder number. If you are not a member, you will receive a unique bidder number.
  5. Use this number during the auction, not your name. If you don't receive a confirmation email before the event, please contact: info@charleswoodgc.ca and put Auction Question in the subject line
  6. Read and be familiar with our Auction Process

Set-Price Plants for Sale:

We will also have a selection of plants with a set price that will be ready for sale before the auction. To purchase any of these plants you need a member/bidder number.

The list of plants and the prices will be posted at Set-Price Plants when they are available.

Register to Bid. Please use the same bidder number for the Set-price plants and the auction plants.

  1. Send an email to info@charleswoodgc.ca
  2. Put Plant purchase in the subject line
  3. In the email, state your bidder number, which plant you want to purchase and how many you want
  4. Plants will be available on first come basis
  5. These plants will be set aside for you
  6. This spreadsheet will be taken down when all the plants have sold or by Thursday evening
  7. Following the live auction, you will receive an email with a link to a spreadsheet
  8. Check the spreadsheet for your bidder number to see how much you owe and your pickup location and time slot

I decided to grow it; now what do I do with it?

After a couple of years of traditional in ground gardening Anita Jacobson and her husband Tim went with raised beds as they knew they were in their forever home and wanted to be able to continue to garden as they got older. Anita will talk about what they grow and how growing it fits their life. She looks forward to sharing some ideas of what to do with produce.

Become a Member

E-transfer $10.00 to membership@charleswoodgc.ca or mail a cheque to: 1422 Loudoun Road, R3S 1A4 and make the cheque payable to Noreen Kolesar. Please include your address and phone number. Your membership card with your membership number will be available to pick up at our next regular meeting.
